I’ve totally fallen off the bandwagon with posts. I apologize. I’ve come under some struggles lately. As a result, I have lacked the zeal to write thoughtful, profound posts.  But I’m changing that. Hopefully, I’ll have some posts next week that you can soak up and think about.

Hey ya’ll! Watch this video I found on Pinterest. It was originally posted on Huffington Post.  Posted January 10, this video has caught the eyes and ears of over 3 million people. But it has caused much controversy and conflicted views.

I took a look at this video myself. Jefferson Bethke speaks the truth.  As I’m reading the New Testament, Jesus didn’t come to preach religion. He came to set people free. Religion died when He hanged on the cross. But I can see why there are some that  take issue with it. For those that don’t understand, you have to have a relationship with Christ in order to understand the difference between religion and Christ. It’s a spiritual understanding, not fleshly or figured out by logic and reason. Hence, the importance of the Holy Spirit.

When you decide to have a relationship with Christ–it’s a choice not coerced–you’ll see the difference between religious bondage and freedom. Trust me.  :)

I can’t tell how much I love these women. Hailing from Oakland, CA, these women broke barriers in R&B.  They are gorgeous, feminine, classy, and total badasses. [Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron are my favs!]

Recently, they reunited for Ebony and are apparently getting ready for a world tour. There’s  also a new leaked song from the women too.

Forgive me for being absent lately. I’m working. After standing on my feet for 6-8 hours a day, it’ll take a toll on you. Trust me.

As a result of my heightened awareness, it’s left me heart broken. Heart broken because we’ve drifted away from our morals and values. I realize we underestimate the power of choice and its effects. I realize how selfish we are. As people, we have got to do better. In fact, we should be ashamed of ourselves.

We have become takers instead of givers. Many folks believe the world owes them something.

We believe pornography is a freedom of speech. I like to think it contributes to the sex trafficking of young girls.

We believe in purchasing things now instead of investing and saving for the future. Remember the 2008 financial collapse?

We fail to build our children’s character. We let them listen to and watch anything. And we wonder why they are so jacked up when their older.

We believe in convenience rather than preparation. We regularly eat fast food and then wonder why we gain weight, get cancer, or have high cholesterol.

We believe work is our life. The utmost priority should be with our spouses, family, and the Creator (if you have one). That’s what gives you life.

Overall, we’ve become too damn lazy, including myself. However, there are certain things that just aren’t important to me anymore. Now I crave a simple, peaceful life. I believe that’s what God wants for us. That seems more attainable than what the world says.

So, forget what the world says. The world is a fool. Reset your moral compass. It could be as simple as:

-Educating yourself what you put in your body and on it.

-Walking with integrity. Do the right thing.

-Foster your personal relationships. If they are important to you, make them a priority.

-Be reluctant to take and willing to give.

-Save your money for big, expensive purchases. Invest in your future.

People, let’s become individuals. Let’s start walking with a new nature. Who wants to change the world with me?

As followers of Christ, it’s expected. The world has gotten used to the selfish, mean and hypocritical Christian. When someone like Tebow genuinely demonstrates integrity and gives thanks to Lord, it’s a huge problem. A conspiracy.

Tebow has taken a horrible Denver Broncos team from 1-4 to a 6-5 season. They are now second to the Oakland Raiders in the AFC West. That’s a huge turn around.

In games, he wears scriptures under his eyes. In one particular game, he wore John 3:16. Do you know 92 million people Googled that scripture? Rest assure, some people got saved or at least were interested in learning about Christ.

I know I’m rambling again. But I want to make it clear that Tebow is being used by God. He’s not a perfect quarterback. He definitely needs some improvements. Tebow will get better over time. Like those in the pic above, they weren’t perfect either.

Don’t ever doubt your usefulness to God. God can use you for anything and everything; no matter what you’ve done. You are meant for something.

There’s something sexy about a man who loves God, especially Tebow.

This season, I am working as a Store Team Member at Toys R’ Us. I absolutely love working there because of the people I encounter and my colleagues. The pay….eh. I’m at this point in my life where I think I deserve more.

Aside from that, I worked Black Friday. It was exciting, but trying and repetitive. I had people come in my line asking for price checks on items that they weren’t planning on getting anyway. In the end, they wasted mine and other people’s time. If you not sure about an item that you want to buy, leave it alone. You make Black Friday much worser and time consuming than it should be.

After I got off work, 24 hours later, I had an epiphany. Parents give too much power to their children during the holidays. I saw countless people coming in my line and splitting the costs with other relatives just so their children can be satisfied on Christmas Day. People continue to indulge themselves and children during hard times. Wasn’t it our indulgences that contributed to the current financial collapse?  Shame on you.

To the parents, quit stressing yourself out during this season. If you can’t afford it, then you need to communicate that with your children and tell them why. If they throw a fit, then punch them in the throat! They have no power, you do.

Overall, I think that the Christmas season is not the best time to indulge, but to have the most self-control. Set boundaries on your children and other people you love. You’ll be less stressed and much happier.

FYI, I don’t have any kids nor am I married. As a child, there were times when I was ungrateful that there was a certain toy my parents could not get me.Those situations taught me to ask for less and things that are the most important to me.

Forgive my rambling. I had to get that off my chest. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Next year, there will be two versions of Snow White on the big screen. In March 2012, Mirror, Mirror will star Lily Collins and Julia Roberts. But in the summer of 2012, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron will star in Snow White and the Huntsman. Both will be highly anticipated, but I believe people will be more interested in seeing Stewart and Theron go toe to toe.

I have no doubt that Kristen Stewart will be amazing as Snow White. But from looking at the trailer, this movie is all about Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen.

The trailer also got me thinking too. Where are the Black fairy tales? That situation needs to be rectified. Pronto.
